Asatiamanasikāra (MN 20)

The third of the four ways for a halt to thinking from unwholesome thoughts
Asatiamanasikāra, the way of forgetfulness and ignorance, in the literal sense
In a literal sense, but not the forgetfulness of wholesome
In a literal sense, but not ignorance as avijja

But forgetfulness and even ignorance, a quite a tedious job when understanding of amansikāra as avijja
Or asati and amansikāra, not a straightforward thing in fear of a lack of mindfulness (sati) and attention (manasikāra)
One way, with the aid of dhātu manasikāra, a Vipassanā meditation practice
Previous establishment of dhātu manasikāra or start of fresh establishment of dhātu manasikāra

In dhātu manasikāra, whenever and wherever focus, on whichever object
Attempts for analysis of dhātus
Or focus through the lens of dhātus
In the same manner, avoidance of unwholesome ones, or ones, the source of annoyance

An instance, a thought about dāna (generosity) through the lens of dhatu satimanasikāra as Tejo (fire element)
On fresh occurrence, and if firm then as Pathvi dhātu (earth element)
Also, a thought, about indulgence in sense pleasures, although Tejo dhātu again
But better letting go, not through the lens of any dhātu
