Self-indulgence vs self-mortification: Guilt vs arrogance

Self-indulgence, self-mortification,

Faith in rituals and rites,

Violence, theft, robbery,

Lies, gossip, negligence, sexual misconduct,

Slandering, divisive, harsh, or abusive speech,

Either livelihood or occasionally,

Or in simple, doubt about Lord Buddha,

Then, out of 31 realms, only 4 nether realms experience,

Repetition of rebirths in nether realms only,

Human realm, just above the nether realms, the realm 5

Titans, the realm 4,

Hungry Ghosts, The Realm 3,

Animals, the realm 2,

And hell, at the base, the realm 1,

The realms with most of the ups & downs,

Self-indulgence, the extreme, pleasures upside,

Self-mortification, the extreme, pain upside,

With pleasures upside, feelings of guilt after cessation,

With pain upside, feel of arrogance after cessation,

So, moderation advice.
