Search for self
Protection of two world by two bright things (AN 2.9.1)
Conscience, i.e., moral dread and prudence, i.e., moral shame (AN 2.9.1)
If absence of two bright things and no recognition of status of mother, aunts, or wives (AN 2.9.1)
And partners of tutors and people worthy of respect (AN 2.9.1)
Then, dissolution of world, like goats and sheep, chickens and pigs and dogs and Jackals (AN 2.9.1)
Some schools of thought, "I lost myself in the struggle for success.", and "Search for a real me.", etc.
Not just about the loss of identity, fame, wealth
But instead the loss of conscience and prudence
No fame, no identity worth the compensation of loss
Instead the opposite, the notion of I, identity exactly the cause behind the loss of two
Not only loss of status in society but fading away of understanding of truth and dhamma too
As a consequence, no trigger of compassion on contact with any suffering
No trigger of understanding of impermanence, on comprehension of something as impermanent
So, search for self, not exactly the search for self
But instead desire for understanding of real nature of existence
